Update

We are in a bad need of posting new pics of Graham. Everyday it seems like he is shedding babyhood for boyhood. He only has one thing left that reminds me of him being a baby...the bottle and that is almost gone. Graham has always loved his bottle so I have been putting off the day when he had to be rid of it. But surprisingly he is giving it up easily. He is a bigger boy than I imagine. I think it is mostly me who does not want to give up the bottle. I like that few minutes he is still in my arms and twirls my hair with his fingers. It is hard giving up those moments. But he is creating other special moments in their place.

He had his check-up not too long ago and he continues to be a big boy. He has dropped his percentiles to 70th in weight. But he continues to be in the 95th in height. I know it is too early to tell but I wonder if he is going to take after my dad and uncle and be at least 6'4"? It seems weird to think about looking up to my son.

In other news we have had some changes lately and more to come. Some of you may not know but Travis lost his job back in June. It came as quite a shock even though we thought it could happen. The company he was working for decided to pull out of Alabama so he and my sister lost their jobs. Thankfully four of the PAs decided to start a similar business and brought Travis along as their first employee. We only went two weeks unemployed. But during those weeks we had no idea what we were going to do so we did a lot of soul searching about jobs, life and the future.

Travis has always talked about wanting a field. Most of his jobs have just happened and have been fine for the time being. But when they get taken away like this last job it left him(us) wondering what to do next. That being said Travis has decided to go back to school. Everything happened fast and we are thankful he got in and was able to start this semester. And since the company he is working for is just starting they were more than willingly to cut back his hours and work with his school schedule.

We still have one more decision. Our lease ends at the end of September and we are not sure yet where we will be living. But we hope in the next few weeks it will all clear up. I never would have thought that my northern husband would be getting a degree from Alabama. It is so weird that he has classes in the same buildings I did. At least I can get football tickets again. We can sell them and pay for school. Roll Tide.

Behind the Scenes

Graham's Other Addiction

Graham finally decided his Starbucks drink is a half-caf double tall sugar-free vanilla soy latte with half a splenda.

Graham and the Zoo

Graham found it difficult to disguise his smugness toward pink flamingos.

He loved the rhinos.

Hair Trim

I would not say this was Graham's first hair cut but he did need his bangs trimmed so he could see.

Hunger Strike at Eight Months

Our big baby boy has now decided that baby food is not for him. After a couple of frustrating weeks of having food spit all over me I wanted to give up on feeding him. It was kinda of funny watching him blow everything out of his mouth. But I knew laughing was only making it worse. Thankfully someone created Cheerios and now he is on a new diet plan. He has moved to eating table food now and like a good half Southern boy he loves his beans and potatoes.

Graham turned eight months last week and is changing everyday. I don't know what happened to my little baby. Graham crawls everywhere and gets into everything. He has a unique ability to go straight for everything he is not suppose to touch...and he is fast. Trying to change his diaper is like trying to wrestle a greased pig. Travis and I have given up which means Graham gets naked time each night to crawl around the house. Oddly enough he is even faster naked. Each day he is getting more confidence pulling up and standing. He can almost pull up on a flat surface. He is a master now at pulling up at the coffee table and spends most the day standing there eating Cheerios.

In other news Travis and I are adjusting to Birmingham. We went to church the first time Sunday and had a good experience. Finding a church seems to always be the hardest part of a move. Most of our relationships in new places have come through church so we are very grateful for the places we have attended which makes it hard to think about starting over. Having Graham makes things a little more difficult because we cannot just come in the back and leave. The church we went to Sunday is new and small which is a nice feel after going to such large churches in the past. Hopefully, it will be the place for us and we won't have to search any more.

Other than that things are going well and we our looking forward to upcoming events. My sister just bought a condo at the beach so we hope some sunny trips are in our future.
